I am inspired each time I visit a campus and meet with professors and students to discuss their goals, teaching, learning and see these ideas in progress. The greatest ideas are formulating right this minute in our world’s universities with tomorrow’s innovators, the engineering students. I recently joined TI’s Senior VP, Brian Crutcher on a visit to University of Central Florida. In a standing room only address to students and faculty, Brian gave his visionary perspective on the skills industry must have from engineers today as they enter the workforce. After sharing his personal story of moving from his UCF days to industry, he shared the areas TI’s customers impact. “Today, I’m proud to be part of a team of leaders and innovators at TI focused on making the world safer, smarter, greener, healthier and more fun” Brian commented. Engineering students have the chance to be a part of developing that technology using cutting edge TI products and solutions. Engineering offers us the chance to take on critical problems that matter and to develop solutions changing the way millions of people live.
Imagine if you could…· Bring light to those who have lived without electricity· Alert people to threats before they occur· Reduce our environmental footprint with smart energy solutions
The needs are real and immediate. Solutions come from engineers who will think in unconventional ways, take ownership of their education and use techniques and tools to help them. It was an inspiring talk that reminded us to stay hungry and energized. Engineering is much more than a vocation, it’s a foundation.
We are excited to partner with educators and students in universities to help develop great engineers and give them the hands-on tools needed to move with urgency toward solutions. – Let us know how we can help - See you on campus soon! Cathy Wicks TI University Program www.ti.com/university
Thank you so much for sharing! I love it when TI Execs get to talk to Students directly. Thier stories are always so inspirational!
