This could be titled – Hey, what’s that in your purse?
It is so exciting that I can now carry around a live demo of our development technology safely in my purse. I’ve been hoping to accomplish this for a long time and thanks to our friends in the MSP430 team – I can take my LaunchPad everywhere. Often I find myself in coffee shops, campus hallways, trains, planes and automobiles talking about the cool things cooking up in our tools labs. The LaunchPad + CapTouch demo coupled with a small USB battery pack, fits neatly in my purse and can augment a great discussion. With its interactive nature (touch is so compelling) this little combo makes a quick starter for many projects. The board features a capacitive touch button, scroll wheel and proximity sensor.
We recently gave them to co-op students spending the summer at TI, with the challenge of producing a project – they came up with some fun innovations - LED light table, Android heart monitor, motor control and more. The project code examples are growing – and instructors are incorporating LaunchPad into their courses - as a quick start homework in programming.
Tonight I’ll be taking my LaunchPad demo up to Mount Rushmore with 500+ educators here in beautiful South Dakota at the “Frontiers In Education” Conference.
We’d love to hear what your LaunchPad has been doing. Please reply to this post and link to photos of your LaunchPad.
