Why do we think Linaro is a game changer? Our TI team is focused on creating innovative technologies that revolutionize the way people interact with each other and the outside world. Whether it’s a child experiencing the Internet for the first time on a smartphone powered by our OMAP™ processor or a parent streaming soccer pictures to a relative via our Bluetooth® technology, each one serves a unique purpose for every day consumers.
Making those products work well and continually evolve to support new applications requires a lot of backend commitment to the open source development community. We have a longstanding history of supporting open source development—in fact, we are one of the largest enhancement contributors to the Linux Kernel itself. Our team is focused on supporting the developers and designers behind open source. We joined Linaro in this spirit, because it will spur a common foundation of software components and tools that will help developers best address multiple market segments. Linaro initiatives will unleash next-generation creativity by providing improved, far-reaching tool sets based on ARM’s proven architecture.
There are more than 400+ partners in TI’s robust ecosystem, 750+ companies in ARM’s community and thousands more linked to Linaro’s other founding members. With an open support system this big, the possibilities are endless – we look forward to the road ahead!
