Introducing a cool new wearable development kit from InvenSense® featuring MSP430F5528 ULP technology: this 16bit, 128K flash MCU is used to control an InvenSense MPU-9150, 9-axis sensor and also provides USB or Bluetooth connectivity back to a host system.
InvenSense just announced a new wearable sensor SDK for health and fitness applications. Based around the new MPU-9150, which is the first integrated 9-axis MEMS MotionTracking™ device, this kit offers developers the chance to get their hands on some really cool MEMS technology. The clever folks at InvenSense have managed to squeeze a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis compass and a 3-axis angular rate sensor (gyro) into the MPU-9150. What’s even more amazing is that they manage to fit it into a package no larger than 4mm x 4mm… now that’s a lot of MEMS technology in not a lot of space!
