Times are tough. We are in a financial crisis and we are spending our future to try to get out of it. We are losing our jobs and our companies are in chaos.
I'm doing that and am presently searching the marketplace for potential buyers of my first device. The third iteration of the device uses MSP430 chips, the fourth employs C2000 series DSPs. Down the road a distance is a Holodeck and farther on an i-POD sized one. These are perfectly reasonable devices if you understand the technology fully and we certainly can if we try. I already partially do.

Would a real Holodeck be a popular entertainment venue? Coupled with the most killer ad line I have ever heard: "As real as you want it to be!" BIG crowds would be forming outside the e-stores once again.

There are plenty of other unique and amazing devices yet to be had, we just have to realize that our senses of Disbelief and Skepticism have blocked us from exploring the next great technology realms. If you can come to grips with these most powerful and constrictive prejudices there is a new world out there to explore.

It is absurdly easy to start and the road is soooooo open.

Besides products there is an enormous pile of IP to be gained and profited from and I know of only one small patent in this area so far, perhaps a few others I've only heard rumors of. This is a pursuit for creative Legal Beagles (woof!) and top end genius level lovers of mathematics and DSP math as well as rampant circuit designers and programming and physics theorists.

TI already produces practically everything necessary to research these issues with itty bitty low power LPRF connected probes and sophisticated signal analysis. Remember that in World War II the US aircraft industry turned the impossible idea of manned flight out at an iterative speed of a new generation of aircraft every two weeks.

How fast can you fly?
