Meet the TI E2E Masterminds - John Tucker

Today in our Meet the TI E2E Mastermind Series meet John Tucker, Consumer DC/DC Applications, who is primarily active in the Non-Isolated DC/DC Forum on E2E.

Describe your role at Texas Instruments and your history in working with the E2E community?

I am an applications engineer supporting the Consumer DC/DC business unit. I have been active in the E2E community since it’s beginning.

What was the last book or film you read or saw that inspired you and that you would recommend to others?

I read mostly for pleasure and have rather esoteric tastes. In general I do not watch movies and have not seen anything recent, but I always recommend “Casablanca” if asked.

What forums on E2E are you most active in and any tips for community members in either asking questions in them or searching for answers?

I monitor the Non-Isolated DC/DC forum. That is my area of expertise.

Tip: Always include the TI part number of the device you are inquiring about in the title of your post.

Tip: If you are requesting troubleshooting assistance, please go ahead and post your schematic and any waveforms that demonstrate your issue. We will want to see them, so to save time, post them right away.

For anyone new or starting out with areas your forums cover what resources or advice would you give them?

There are lots resources available. I always start at the product folder webpage.

Any recent forum threads especially helpful you want to point out to community members?

Most of the threads I am on are rather specific in nature. But it is not uncommon for other users to experience similar issues. I always recommend that “search is your friend”.

Your advice for others trying to reach the E2E Mastermind status?

I monitor the Non-Isolated DC/DC forum often. I recommend that you subscribe via email. Then you will be alerted to relevant posts. Also, I feel free to respond to general DC/DC topics that may not concern parts that I directly support, especially if I have insider knowledge of them.
