Hello,
I suscribe to a lot of your forums. Up until today, that was cool becuase I was only getting initial posts and I could then go to the link and suscribe to that message if I wanted to receive the replies.
Today (or sometime this weekend) I start receivng EVERY post. I don't need that, how can I set it back to just the headlines?
Did something change?
Brandy
If you go to settings after logging in and click on "Email" you will see a section called "Forum Post Notifications"
There you can set it to "new posts" which is just the initial posts or "all posts" which is what you're getting now

I checked my settings and it was set to new posts. I even "re-saved" my settings as such.
But I just got an email for posted RE:DM8168 EVM PCIe Male - Male Cable
I suscribe to the DM8168 forum but I could careless about PCIe and would not have email suscribed to this post.
Please advise why this happening.
I do not know, but I will log it as a bug with our upgrade project.
I am not sure, but it looks like it is the DM8168 forum mostly (or that is the most active one today.)
Just to keep you posted, it is still occuring. Many emails chains that I have not suscribed too.
I noticed that you must have made an update to the forum recently since the searching page is also different now and I might add does not seem as functional. I often type a search and will go no responses - when I know that I at least have posted something that would perfectly match the search.
Thanks for your help,Brandy
Foe,
Attached is an interesting screen shot from a forum notice I just got in my email.
What is interesting, is this was one that I was thinking about following and when I went to the post it acted link I was already following it! You see, before there would be a link on the left to suscribe to the post via email. Now that link is gone. I am logged in, so it should be there. Usually once I suscribe to a post, that "suscribe via RSS" link shows up. I don't know what that link does, I have never tried it.
Anyhow, just trying to help with the investigation. Please let me know if you need anything else.
PS - just kidding on the screen shot - the attachment button is not working (and neither is the image button.)
I tried to insert again and it did not work. I am using IE9 for reference.
Works in Firefox.
Hi,
I've been getting this as well, all posts rather than just initial posts. I have checked my setting as well and they are as follows:
For forum subscriptions, specify to receive notifications for only new threads or for all posts (including all replies) New Threads Only [Selected] All Posts [Not Selected]
This has only been happening for the past few days. I subscribe to these forums:
It would be nice to get this resolved as I am now flooded with emails. I suggest some change has been made at your end which is causing peoples settings to be ignored?
Regards, Tony.
Phew - glad I am not the only one!
I hope they resolve it quickly!
Hello Foe,
I don't think there is any progress on this issue. I have deleted over 400 emails this week alone from TI. Please give me a status update.
Thanks,
Tony MorrellFor forum subscriptions, specify to receive notifications for only new threads or for all posts (including all replies) New Threads Only [Selected] All Posts [Not Selected]
My suggestion (until this is reported fixed): uncheck the 'new Thread' option too.
The forum shows you all threads with new posts in bold. And in the 'latest post' column, you'll now see the thread creation date, not the date/time of the latest post. So you can go through it without missing a new thread or having to open an old one.
However, this is if you want the mails for notification only. If you want to keep them for reference, I fear you currently have to swallow them all :(

And/or look here.If you cannot discuss your problem in the public, feel free to start a private conversation: click on my name and then 'start conversation'. But please do so only if you really cannot do it in a public thread, as I usually read all threads. And I prefer to answer where others can profit from it (or contribute to it) too.
Jens-Michael GrossAnd in the 'latest post' column, you'll now see the thread creation date, not the date/time of the latest post.
Chester GillonThey seem to have "fixed" that, and the 'latest post' column is now back to displaying the date/time of the latest post.
But it shows that improvements/fixes are udnerway and deployed as soon as available. So chances are that the notifications will work fine again soon.
Hello TI,
While I appreciate the upgrades and improvements, I am still waiting for some feedback on this issue. I really don't care to be getting every response to every post unless it pertains to me. I also don't want to go to the site and look at all the posts for the day to see if there is something I care about.
It worked fine when I got the original question and then could opt to get the responses if I wanted. Why did this change and will this feature ever be re-instated? Please let me know that you are at least working on it.
Thanks!
