I'm trying to paste screen shots to my post, and they look as though the paste is successful, but as soon as I click "Post", they disappear. At first I tried with a *.png 167K, then with a jpg (300K). I have tried Ctl+C Ctl+V, and clicking the Windows paste button. I pasted a screen shot of an Excel spreadsheet before and had no problems. Don't know what is different here.
Marc,
Our rich text editor doesn't support the direct copying and pasting of image files into it. Use the insert image file option to add any image files directly into a post. Put the cursor at where you want the image to appear and then click on "Insert Image" button to the right of the right indent button. Save any screenshots beforehand on your local machine as a jpg or gif and then upload as needed using that "Insert Image" option.
For any content like Excel or anything from a Microsoft product it will paste it in as text but especially with Microsoft be sure to use the "Paste from Word" option in the rich text editor as otherwise your formatting will probably get lost.

I still can't paste. Could our server be preventing this pasting? Have you heard of anything like this before? Excel seemed to work easily, but these images are giving me trouble.
For any images you will need to first save them to your local machine as an image file. Once they are saved as an image file you can then upload them using the "Insert Image" button in the rich text editor toolbar.
Any direct pasting of images outside of this won't work.
Also note for anything with Microsoft products including Excel (specific to text based content only) you will want to first use the "Paste from Word" option to keep formatting.
