This is a four day laboratory-based design workshop based on Texas Instruments’ C2000 family of fixed point digital signal processors, including Piccolo. This course is aimed at Analog PSU Designers who already design analog SMPS, but need to go digital. It is also aimed at Embedded Systems Engineers who do not need to design the power stage, but have been asked to code the digital controller.

The workshop aims to reduce the development time of digital power supplies by teaching attendees the skills necessary to quickly start using the TI C2000 family. By the end of the workshop attendees will have designed and coded four closed loop digital converters and will have received the necessary templates, libraries and skills to implement multiple converters with minimal coding.

Who Should Attend

These workshops are designed specifically for:

Experienced Analog PSU designers who:

  • Already design analog SMPS, but need to go digital
  • Have little or no experience of C or embedded systems programming and would prefer to minimize the amount of code that they need to write
  • Have little or no experience of discrete time control theory and wish to reduce their learning curve
  • Need to get their digital PSUs out of the door quickly and would prefer to use pre-coded, easy to understand library functions instead of coding their own.

Experienced Embedded Systems Engineers who:

  • Do not need to design the power stage but have been asked to code the digital controller
  • Need to get up and running with the development tools and SMPS features of C2000 very quickly
  • Due to commercial time constraints would prefer to use pre-coded, library functions instead of coding their own.
