Well, i was a stubburon beleiver of atmel zigbee devices initially due to their very small battery power consumption and free compilers.

I was using their zigbit devices for zigbee and was considering TI at that time as a less preferred alternative due to various reasons.

Later as my project progressed, and i was finding more and more inner details of zigbee, i found the TI stellaris wireless solution was the most efficient and cost effective device for large networks with size of 500 nodes or so.

The amount of memory required for  END-DEVICES only network is greatly understated in many zigbee pro designs. Here i found TI to be to the point and most flexible with the LM3S9B96 based design having as much as 96K of internal RAM and that made my mind ready for TI.

What attracted me to TI was

1. Rich possibilities with zigbee pro through stellaris

2. Abundant tools to choose from

3. Excellent design case notes

4. Excellent antenna selection guides

5. Wide design guides
