SPI Servo Boosterpack

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5131, LM25011, CSD16301Q2

Control up to 8 servo motors with your MSP430, C2000, or Stellaris Launchpad. Powered via dual on-board wide input range (6V -20V) 1.5A  buck regulators suitable for a variety of power sources including 2+ cell LiPo or other rechargeable batteries. Two auxiliary output channels controlled by N-channel power MOSFET can drive DC peripherals (e.g. solenoid, motor, pump, relay, etc.). Stackable headers allow combination with other boosterpacks or self-stacking up to 4 servo boosterpacks allowing control of up to 32 servo motors.

Featured TI components:

  • MSP430F5131 (takes SPI / UART commands and generates servo control signals)
  • LM25011 Buck Regulator x 2 (used to generate servo supply voltages)
  • LM2842Y Buck Regulator (used to generate MSP430F5131 supply voltage)
  • CSD16301Q2 Power MOSFET (low-side driver for auxiliary solenoid, DC motor, DC pump, relay, etc.)
