I've built a small amp based on this EVM (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tpa3008d2evm.html), and it seems to be working fine, until i connect cables to the input ...
Static noise (as i think its called, correct my non native english if i'm wrong,) comes from the speakers, even though no source is connected to the other end of the input cables ... The noise is "less" when using better quality cables, but it's there ....
this is what is looks like: http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee132/fizz_upptaget/DSCN6394.jpg
Where do I start?
Oh no!!! Looks like you've got some cooked silicon there. You said that the amp was working with less noise for a while before you closed up the box? It sounds like something went wrong with your ground connection - can you send a pic of what it looks like now post-mortem?
Also, what power supply voltage were you using?
