Gentlemen:

We purchased a TPA2028D1YZF eval board, which we received today. After installing the TPA2028D1 Software GUI Ver1.0" software from TI's website, the board appears in Device Manager as "NI-VISA USB Devices:  Unknown device," even after pointing the installer to the directory where the INF file resides. The TPA2028D1 Interface program initially reports "I2C Success," but the Refresh button test described in "Quickstart Guide.txt" fails, and the GUI locks up if we click the Exit button, requiring a force quit. This was on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Surmising that the software may be incompatible with 64-bit Windows 7, we tried installing the software on a Windows XP system. The installer fails with the message, "The NI VISA Shared Components 32-Bit Installation has failed with the following error. Internal Error 2203. C:\WINDOWS\Installer\605a0.ipi, -2147287035 Continue?"

How can we troubleshoot these problems?

Regards,

Dean
