I wonder how many even TPA3116D2 can be connected in parallel?

I'm designing an amplifier 3 channel (2 stereo + 1 sub), without using source will feed only with 12V. The idea is to use 3 x TPA3116. Each stereo channel using a TPA TPA and the other for the sub. The stereos working with 26dB gain and sub 36dB.Qual be in the final power of each channel at 2 ohms??
Hi, Jayjay,
The PBTL power for 4R and 8R will be similar to BTL since it is limited by the voltage not current. PBTL will be slight better due to lower RDson.

Hi, Jay Jay,
As Paul mentioned, PBTL only buys you an advantage when you lower the load impedance. This is what generates the improvement in output power.
Hi, Fernando,
We don't have any experience in combining multiple chips in parallel. It should work, but you will need to parallel the separate ICs after the LC filter to keep them from fighting each other. Basically, you would take three instances of the bottom half of Figure 27 in the data sheet (it would probably be a good idea to SYNC them all together like we did in Figure 27) and connect your load after the LC filters.
As Paul mentioned above, this will only really help you achieve more power with lower load impedances. For nominal speaker loads, you won't achieve significantly more power by paralleling multiple ICs (for example, you won't get 3x the output power). The power is limited by the voltage swing, and paralleling ICs does not significantly increase your voltage swing for a given load impedance.

Hi Don,
Thanks for the reply. I actually wanted to know if it would have any sonic advantage having mono vs. stereo. On papers yes, only more power with lower load impedance with mono but when you actually listen I wonder if it would sound better to have mono. That's what I was wondering.
Paul,
In the new design, a doubt arose, it is possible to interconnect pin to pin 2 x TPA3116D before the peripherals components, to try to drain more current?
Hi, Fernando,
Are you thinking about parallel PBTL by connecting outputs of two amps together to provide higher output current?

Paul.
