Hi there,

we used PGA2500 preamplifier in a daisy chain , the problem is that when we change the gain for any channel there is zippering or clicking, any ideas?

Hello Anas,

The zero-crossing detection of the PGA2500 should be enabled in order to minimize this clicking when changing gain settings. To do this, pull pin 9 (ZCEN) high. However, it may not be possible for the part to fully remove all the glitch energy, so some clicking may still be audible. Is it possible to send a scope capture of the glitch waveform when switching gains?

thank you for your respond.

Actually we did activate the zero crossing. and as i understood the effect of ZCEN is essentially when there is a signal

while the the zippering we have it is without signal.
another thing that zippering is existed in a channel even if i change the gain for another channel
