TPA6140A2 EVM driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA6140A2YFFEVM

Hi all, I am new here. I got he TPA6140A2YFFEVM board, and installed GUI software. Then I connect the board's USB to my computer, and driver cannot be found.  In device manager, I can see a TIAudioI2C device, but when I update the driver and try to search automatically, no driver can be found.  I have tried Win7 64bit and 32bit, and also 32bit Win XP without luck. Am I doing anything wrong?

Also, I have connected the USB (without software control, just power), input and output, and played audio, but there is no input, is that normal?   I am worrying that I have a faulty board.

  • Hi, Andy,

All our EVMs are 100% tested before they are shipped, so I doubt you have a bad EVM.

It sounds like the USB Driver did not get loaded. When he plugs in the EVM, it should bring up the Windows Hardware Not Found wizard, and then you can use it to install the driver.

If this flow doesn't work on your system, you may have to Manually point the USB driver installer to the inf file in

..\Program Files\Texas Instruments Inc\TPA2016D2 Interface (this will be slightly different since you are using a different part.

If THAT doesn't work, you can go in the Device Manager, find the USB thing with a ? next to it, right-click select Update Driver or whatever i's called.

Let me know if this doesnt' do the trick.

  • Sorry for the late reply.  Yes, this method works, and the EVM is working perfectly!  Thank you!

  • Andy,
