Hi,

I am looking at a little ampboard with tpa3116d2 that sounds different then the other 4 tpa3116d2 ampboards I have. By accident i noticed the markings on tpa3116d2 chip differ from the other 4. So befor continuing the search how to get this board sounding better I want to ask about this difference.

The 4 other tpa3116d2 chips have laser engraved markings, this new ampboard came with ink printed markings on tpa3116d2. So the question is: Does Texas Instuments produce tpa3116d2 chips with printed ink markings?

Tried to make photo's, first=white ink is visable from every angle, second=laser engraving looks a little yellow on a chip with much rougher surface and can't be seen clearly from every angle.

I’m not sure if Ti changed its labeling procedure for certain parts recently or why the difference in sound. I will forward this to someone who supports this part number.

Both these chips are soldered on amplifierboards I bought on ebay.com. I took photo's with smartphone, autofocus gives some trouble, no macrofunction, then I cutout chip in Paint.

A colleague saw small ampboard and smiled, grabbed IPA cleaning spray and cotton wool and wasn't very carefull cleaning chip, sounded like sanding, but white is gone and chip definitely looks laser engraved now. Sorry, looks like I was too carefull with chip.
