TAS5717 downmix mono

Hello,

is there any possibility to mix left and rigth channel to a mono signal after application of the volume control block? So the goal is to combine/mix one mono signal maintaining its constant volume level (such as a signal tone) with another mono signal (general audio) which can be volume-regulated.

Thanks a lot!

Andreas

  • Helllo Andreas,

You can't mix left and right channels after Volume control block.

However, you can use channel mixer registers (0x72 and 0x73 for channel 1, and 0x76 and 0x77 for channel 2), setting a constant value for one input and modifying the gain for the other one. This can produce the same effect you are looking for.

  • Hello Diego,

    thank you for your help!
In this case I will use the volume control you described and mix both channels outside the audio amplifier IC. This is quite simple.

    Best regards,
    Andreas
