TAS5754/6M HybridFlow Processsor User Guide, SLAU577

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5756M

Is this doc not ready yet? I don't need it right now but I will need later. It tells how to load the Hybrid Flow into the chip, right? Does it load over I2S or I2C?

From datasheet...

Use the TAS5754/6M HybridFlow Processsor User Guide and HybridFlow Documentation (SLAU577) to
select the HybridFlow that meets the needs of the target application.

  • Hello Jon,

The SW user guide isn't available as yet. It should be available next month. It tells you about the different features like dynamic bass enhancement, dynamic range compression, BiQuads EQ, etc. Different HybridFlows have different mix of features and is downloaded by the GUI to the device via I2C.

Please checkout the EVM user guide. It should help you through setup and runing the GUI. It also shows some of the HybridFlows features.

  • Hi!

I'm bumping this one since I'm also interested in the inner workings of the miniDSP and Hybridflow, eventually looking to write custom "applications" and upload them to the device.

So in wonder, when will the sought for document be available?

Worth mentioning is that I'm not using the EVM but a custom made board which I'm controlling from a micro over i2c. I find the device easy to work with and it sounds good but there are a few things in the d/s that I suspect to be incorrect (other than already mentioned in other threads) and I will try and make a list to post in a separate thread since there's no errata yet, is there?

    Thank you!

  • In case you guys have not seen it, the document was released in January, and it is available here:

  • Brian,

I'm trying to make working HybridFlow on TAS5756M EVM board using the GUI from TI (PurePath console). I can play music from the USB and from an external I2S source (PSIA) with the hardware modification needed. I can also adjust volume level using the GUI. However, when I select one of the HybridFlow and run it (using the green arrow), no music can be heard and a message display ''Overflow'' for Audio Data Status. Is there something I do wrong? I looked into the user guide (slau577) to find a solution but I did not find any.

    Thanks!
  • Roger,

I work with John R, and he has let me know that you have resolved your issue. I'm going to post your answer here in case a future customer has a similar problem, then they can refer to your answer.

Thanks for choosing TI, and please continue posting on E2E!

    Rogers answer:
"I think I have found the reason why the TAS5756M HybridFlow was not working. This was caused by a mismatch of the sampling rate set in the GUI in PSIA mode versus the sampling rate of our audio source. The PurePath console software is limited at 48KHz but our board send audio at 96KHz. When audio comes from the USB interface at 48KHz, the HybridFlow works perfectly and I can change the equalizer in real time. "
  • Roger,Use HybridFlow 7 for 96kHz sample rate.
  • Damian,

You're right, as it is documented in the user guide in table 2.

    Thanks!
