Power Supply Design for TPA3116?

Can anyone recommend a power supply design (topology) for the TPA3116? In other words, should I use a simple stepdown transformer/bridge/bulk capacitor topology, or do I need a more sophisticated (switching) design? I would like to keep this a simple (inexpensive) as possible. I am (obviously) new to audio PA design.

    You may refer to the apps note SLEA027 that provide some guide lines regarding the power supply recommendation for class D amps. I'd suggest fly-back converter but I also recommend that you follow the example in the apps note and work with TI's power management team to select the best topology via e2e forum.

    Thanks for the guidance. 

    The regulated fly-back design seems like a bit of overkill for just the audio amp (the app note has 3 regulated outputs). I've seen others using simple, unregulated step-down transformer with full bridge rectifier feeding bulk capacitors. I guess I'll try both when my eval board arrives.

    For simplicity, good performance, and reasonable cost, an unregulated supply is the most common for an
    audio power amplifier. An unregulated supply uses a transformer, a bridge rectifier, and various rail
    capacitors. A draw back to the unregulated supply is the voltage fluctuations with load and power mains
    fluctuations. A design should allow for a minimum 10% high line condition on the power mains.
    Unregulated supplies may have only a fuse in the power mains input to protect against excessive current
    unlike more sophisticated regulated designs. Additionally, the power supply voltage rails may have inline
    fuses to add some additional protection.
