How to dial in biquads on the TPA3110D2 Audio amplifier to filter off unwanted frequencies?

Sorry to hear of your difficulties.

Can you explain what you saw that makes you think the TPA3110D2 has biquads in it? I am worried we have an error in our selection tools or data sheet or something that, unfortunately, mis-led you.

You might be able to use the input blocking cap as a high-pass filter for your surrounds. I don't have a good idea for your sub, though. Review the section in the d/s titled, "INPUT CAPACITOR, C" for more info.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, probably my fault by assuming there would be biquads on the amp, nothing you did wrong on the datasheets or similar.

Do you have any other suggestions to get around it with out getting into the board? we are at a late stage in the development abd we would really want to prevent going back to board level.

Thanks for the info!

You might be able to tweak the LC output filter on your .1 channel to give it some sort of HPF effect. See this app note for more details.

After looking at our different options, we are considering changing the TPA3110D2 amps to another with the same or similar specs, but with Biquads in it. I`m looking at the moment into different options could you also recommend any similar TI amp to the TPA3110D2 with Biquads in it?

Unfortunately, we don't have any analog-input amps with biquads in them.

So, you have two choices:

1. Change to an I2S-input amp like TAS5760M, or

2. Add an external op amp - see this app note for ideas.
