PLIMIT Calcluation for TPA3111D1

Hi

Would you tell me how to calculating PLIMIT

Here are his system requirements:

PVCC = 8.9V, Load = 4Ohm, Gain = 20dB and Target Power limit= 3W.
  • Hi, YH,

    Please review the section in the d/s titled, "PLIMIT."

    Please contact your local TI Sales Office for more information.

  • Hi, YH:
    In your current design, PVCC=8.9V, that means the output Vp<8.9V , if use this voltage and with no PLimit , check Poutmax=(Vp)^2/(2*4)=10w.it isOk to set PLimit. if use (Vp_clamp)^2/(2*4)=3w, Vp_clamp=5V, So, you can set VPLIMIT=5v/4=1.25V.
    then you can use 2 resistors divider from GVDD to GND and provide the voltage of 1.25V to PLIMIT.
    but remember, this is a calcualtion result, but you can adjust the parameters depend on your debugging result.
