DIR9001 AUDIO' pin

1) On page 21 of the datasheet there is a chart about the AUDIO' pin. It says that if the pin is low the audio sample represents linear PCM samples. Does this include a linear PCM sample of all 0s for instance?

2) The chart states that when the AUDIO' pin is high that the sample word is used for other purposes. What are those other purposes? Does it go high when the audio samples are not PCM (so something like Dolby etc)

We are looking to trigger our low power modes off of this pin. The states that we need to be able to identify are:

non-PCM data

PCM data

all 0s PCM data

no data (no PCM)
