Hi Audio Amplifier Team

My Customer is going on mass production of TPA2100P1 module.

But the failure issue of TPA2100P1 has being occurred. (Single-Ended Input Configuration)

I think that the cause of failure is EOS of IN+ Pin because the impedance of IN+ and GND is lower than the impedance of good unit.

For example, the impedance of failure unit is about 100ohm and the impedance of good unit is about 4Mohm.

So my customer wants to know the solution for ESD or EOS protection and he wants to apply the ESD protection diode on IN+ Pin.

If it is capable, let me know the solution of ESD protection diode or other things and recommend the solution.

Hi Jae,

How are you configuring the Single-Ended Input? Could you share a schematic?
Have you looked into ESD protection devices?

The input configuration is single-ended input and refer to the follow schematic.

Also I'm looking into the ESD protection device like TPD1E10B06.

Let me know the ESD protection solution if it is capable.

I talked to HVL-IPD, and they recommended:

I think any of our single channel ESD protection devices would work since it looks like the IN+ pin of the TPA2100P1 is typically < 6V. I would start with the TPD1E10B09 which gives 20kV or IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection:
