TAS5421-Q1 Capacitor Selection

My auto customer has a question, TAS5421-Q1 has the risk of damage due to the charging of capacitor 330uF when the OUTPUT short to battery.

 

Do you have any suggestion for the capacitor which is <330uF?

 

Of course,the value should be suitable for the component performance. Thank you!

    Hi Jurry,

    I need to understand a little more on the TAS5421 output short to battery damage. 

    1.   Is the output shorted to the battery while the device is powered on?  This means that the output is shorted then the power is turned on? 

    2.  Is the battery voltage higher than PVDD voltage?  Or PVDD voltage higher than battery voltage?

    If you use AEC-Q200 qualified (automotive) capacitor it should be fine.

    Please see my below answer. Thank you!

    1.   Is the output shorted to the battery while the device is powered on?  This means that the output is shorted then the power is turned on? No. The device is powered off during shorted.

    2.  Is the battery voltage higher than PVDD voltage?  Or PVDD voltage higher than battery voltage? The battery voltage and PVDD voltage are the same. There is a switch between them. The switch is open when output is shorted.

    Hello Jurry,

    When the is powered on, the load diagnostics will run.  If the output is short to ground or PVDD, the load diagnostics will stop the device from playing.  When the device is playing, and the output is short to ground or PVDD, the over-current protection will stop the device from playing and put the device in load diagnostics mode.  I can't think of how the device can blow up with the descriptions you give me.

    Can you read the package marking on top of the device and let me know what the marking says?
