Need help on TI Purepath amplifiers

Dear ALl,

One of my customer is looking for purepath amplifiers from TI for their bluetooth audio based applications, they are looking for ~20W rms amplifier(Stereo) and ~7W rms amplifier(stereo). customer is having few queries as below and also help to advise from where we can get complete details about TI Purepath amplifiers.

1. How Equalizer function of these Amplifiers work. How are they configured?

2) What level of control is possible in Equalisation function of Purepath amplifiers.

3) Can these be programmed on the fly? Say a user press a button and Equalisation curve changes. Please reply if this is possible in these devices through some sort of communication with a processor.

Rgds,

Aravind.

  • Hi, Aravind,

In order to offer you a better support, can you please provide more details on the specifications of the amplifier you need?, like input type, power supply levels available and desired speaker impedance?

    About your questions:

1- The configuration of the equalizer is made trough I²C commands by configuring the coefficients of bi-quad filters. The easiest way to configure the biquads is by using the GUI of the selected amplifier, configure the filters and then export the coefficient values.

2- The coefficients can be updated according to the desired frequency response by the user via software with I²C commands.

3- It depends on the amplifier being used.
