Smart Amp Learning Board not recognized in Windows and can't connect to PPC3

Hi,

I was hoping to get some input on issues I have connecting the Smart Amp Learning Board to PPC3. The board lits up when USB is connected and Windows sees the boards as a generic USB device – it's not recognized as a sound card. I have 24VDC on the board. I used to be able to connect with the board, but just tried today and it doesn't connect any longer. I have no problems with my TAS5766M Smart Amp EVM.

Any suggestions?

By the way the Learning Board connects as a "USB Composite Device" in device manager and gives an error. I have tried several different PCs, both Win7 and Win10. The LEDs for "USB lock" and "3.3V" light up as they should. I have attached a couple of screenshots from device manager.

Any ideas on how to proceed from here? I can't make proper tuning in PPC3 without the Learning Board.

Hi Søren,

Do you also see a USB-AudioEVM device under "Sound, video and game controllers" in the device manager? If not, probably the firmware in the USB audio controller TAS1020 is broken for some reason. You should not see the yellow exclamation mark in the device manager.

In addition, if your speaker characterization is done, you can continue your tuning using a TAS5766EVM. You just need to create a new tuning file in the TAS5766 app and then import the ppc3 file you generated in the Learning Board app.
