Mono/PBTL output inductor of TAS5766M

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5766M

Customer will change 10μH×2 inductor to 20μH×1.

Is these change no problem?

If there have a lisk of spec down, please let me know.

  • Hi Satoshi,

The inductor doesn't need to be doubled. They should still use 10uH, but they have to the make sure the current rating of that inductor is enough.

What's the impedance of the customer speaker? The 10uH + u1F LC filter is for a 2 ohm speaker. I can give you other options if the customer speaker has a different impedance.

    Thank you for reply.
I confirmed customer, speaker is 2 ohm OK.

    Sorry for addition;
TAS5766 AMP use only one side AMP on Mono output, is it no problem, too?
※2pin is negative output and 4pin is positive output(Image is the same as Stereo output: Figure 51).
And, 45pin and 47pin are unused(connect to GND).

    Best regards,
    Satoshi
  • Hi Satoshi,

Is there any particular reason for your customer not to follow the PBTL reference circuit (Figure 59) on Page 45?

    Sorry for my late reply.
Customer is using TAS5766M Stereo application (figure 51) for the current model.
Next model will Mono/PBTL application, customer hope to reduce the design change.

    Best regards,
    Satoshi
  • Hi Satoshi,

Pini 45 and 47 cannot be connected to GND. They have to be left unterminated. Please note what your customer is doing is not the recommended mono circuit. I would still suggest your customer follow the Mono/PBTL reference circuit in the Figure 59.
