TPA3255: How is it works on 0 ~ -20 degree ?

Part Number: TPA3255

Since we know the amplifier working will increase the temperature.

The TPA3255 working temperature is 0 ~ 70 degree,

if the temperature is -20 degree, what will be happened ?

PS : My application may work in -20 degree, the amplifier working will increase the temperature,

I have to know the performance when in -20 degree to decided use it or not.

I also check with local FAE, but no response. Pls TI team help me to get it.

  • Hi Roden,

We do not have test data for the TPA3255 down to -20°C. One possible area you may run into trouble with the TPA2355 at lower than spec temperatures is possible shoot through events which could eventually destroy the device. It is hard to determine without further testing whether or not this would be an issue in a real application since the device will heat up during operation

With thorough testing this could be an okay use of the device. Just note that you would be using it out of spec. At this point TI is not qualifying the TPA3255 down to -20°C.

    Regards,
    Dan
