TAS5711: Can use sine wave to MCLK in TAS5711

Hi team,

Can customer use sine waves as MCLK input signal to the TAS5711 or TAS5705? What's the Vpp Voltage requirements of sine wave? If this is possible to use this way to eliminate EMI issue? Thanks.

Hi Lilian,

MCLK should be a square wave. Please see the maximum rise/fall time in the datasheet (set at 5ns for the 5711). A sine wave would violate this.

Please let me know if you have any more questions about the EMI issue from the customer. They should be able to manage EMI with proper PCB routing and following EMI guidelines.
