TAS5421-Q1: TAS5421-Q1 FAULT-Register

Part Number: TAS5421-Q1

Hello Team,

my customer read out the status of FAULT register and find a value of 0x30 after start-up but expect 0x00 according datasheet (page 18)?

Is there a reason why this value happens which means 'PVDD UV' and 'PVDD OV'?
Or is there something to care about?

Many Thanks

Josef

  • Josef,

This is very unusual.  It cannot be an accurate fault reading.  One cannot have both a UV event and an OV event at the same time.  I have some questions about their start-up:

    1.  How is the device started?  Include PVDD, 3.3V, Standby pin and Mute pin sequencing
    2.  Does the fault ever clear?
    3.  Does the device go to play mode?

Please provide the values that are in all three of the registers, 0x01 through 0x03.

  • Hello,
The request was driven by me. Doing further investigations on this we found some possible issues in the read-out procedure. Will cross-check SW first, so please keep topic on hold for the moment.
