TPA3128D2: TPA3128D2 issue

Part Number: TPA3128D2

Hi team,

The customer uses TPA3128D2. He refers to Figure 36. TPA312xD2 Schematic of the datasheet.

He uses the MASTER mode and Gain is set 26dB. When his board is powered on, the FAULTZ pin is low.

So I let the customer refer to Table 4. Fault Reporting to find his issue. Then I will update the post.

Now the customer would like to verify if he needs to refer to Figure 29 Timing Requirement for SDZ of the datasheet to

start the TPA3128D2 device, then the TPA3128D2 device will work well. Would you verify this?

The FAULTZ pin is low, would you provide some suggestions?

Best Wishes,

  • Hi MIcky,

The Figure29 in the datasheet is timing requirement for SDZ when FAULT occurs. We need to find the root cause that FAULT is triggered after power-on. Please make sure the PVCC is within the recommended operating range(check UV, OV fault). Disconnect the output to see if the FAULT is still triggered. Measure the temperature on the device, is it very hot?(check OT/OC) Toggle SDZ to see if the FAULT can be cleared. Connect the input pin to GND through 1uF capacitors, then repeat the procedure to see if the FAUTL is still there(Check DC fault).

Could you help to measure the PWM output waveform on the output by scope when the issue occurs? Please show me the SCH if possible. Make sure the components/solding on the board is good.

    Best regards,

    Shawn Zheng

  • Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your suggestions. I will confirm with the customer for the issue. Then I will update the post.
