TAS5630: TAS5630, TAS5613 EOL?

Part Number: TAS5630
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5613, , TPA3251, TPA3255

Hi,

We are currently designing new audio products based on the TAS5630 and TAS5613.

When I looked at your website last November, it stated that the TAS5630 was not recommend for new designs and that it will replaced by the TPA3255.  It also said the TAS5613 was not recommend for new designs and it will be replaced by the TPA3251.

Is this still the case? Your website is not saying this anymore.

Also what are the benefits of moving to the new chips?

Kind Regards,

Jesse

  • Hi Jesse,
We are looking into this, Adam will reply you soon later.
  • Jesse,

If the devices are still on the website then they are still available.

We highly recommend the newer devices such as the TPA3251 and TPA3255. This newer family of devices has much lower THD as well as 100kHz bandwidth for Ultra-HD / High Resolution sound. The EVMs containing these devices are also much newer and can be used as a basis for your own design.

If you have any questions about the new devices, please let me know.

What output power levels and load impedance are you targeting? Is the application battery powered or is there an idle power requirement?

    Regards,

    -Adam
  • Thanks for your response Adam,

I think i've figured out the source of my confusion. The TAS5630 is EOL but the TAS5630B is still active (Same for 150W).

I must have been mixing both versions up in my mind.

Good to know about the performance gains of the TPA series. I will discuss the possibility of migrating to them with my team.

    We are targeting 2 x 250W and 2 x 120W versions. We are providing 4ohm / 100V / 70V outputs on the back of the amplifier.

No battery or idle power requirements at this stage.

    Cheers,

    Jesse
