TPA3121D2: Power Dissipation

The query is regarding the total power dissipation in TPA3121D2 for 24V VCC and 8 ohms speaker with 4W output Power.

As per datasheet > Figure 18 Page 10, @ 24V VCC, supply current shall be around 200milli amperes of current for 4W output Power.

Does the 200mA supply current accounts for both AVCC and PVCC.

Hi Divya,
The power supply data in the figure includes PVCC and AVCC. Actually the main power consumption is PVCC, AVCC current is far less than PVCC.
TPA3121D2 is a very old device, you could check TPA3130D2 which has much better performance and higher efficiency.

Does TPA3130D2 or TPA3110D2 support single ended output configuration?

Is there any known performance issues with TPA3121D2?

Hi Divya,
There is no performance issue in TPA3121D2. But it's a single-ended output amp, then the performance is worse than the differential output amp. TPA3130D2 and TPA3110D2 doesn't support single-ended output mode.

Similar parts are also fine. We are using the audio power amplifier in single ended input- Output Configuration.

Hi Divya,
Unfortunately we don't have the model for these device. Please be noted that this kind of model is only used to simulate the behavior of the class-d but not the performance. Please refer to the TPA3118D2 model, but it's a differential output device. www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware
