TPA6211A1: Spike of power consumption

Hi,

We developed the boards with TPA6211A1-Q1. We are sending an audio pulse with different harmonics as an input for "single ended input application". Gain is set to 1.72. Input signal is 600mV pk-pk with 1.545V max and 0.956V min. A 4ohm speaker is being driven and IC's Vcc is 2.8V.

Problem is: When the audio in signal is sent, we see a high power consumption by audio IC for few milliseconds. Is that expected? or do we need something to take care. Currently my application a low power application so power consumption spike is not accepted.

Hi Manoj,

I am confused because you mentioned that you are sending an audio pulse with different harmonics, but the input signal is 600mV pk-pk, so Could you explain me in detail your test?

so, we have a fundamental freq. of 600Hz and further 1200, 1800, 2400Hz. The amplitude varies but maximum is 600 pk-pk with limits of max/min mentioned in last post. Is that what you were asking?

Could you provide me some screenshots of the device's signals when the problem is going on? and, you could also provide me a schematic to review if everything is fine.

Unfortunetely I will not be able to share the schematics and screenshots here in public forum. Is there any other way to get help. I wanted to be contact with you instead of our assigned TI person as you have all informations about Audio amps. We have an NDA with TI.
