LM48410: different supply voltage for VDD and PVDD possible ? datasheet not clear on DC characteristics

Part Number: LM48410

We would like to use 3.3V as our digital IO voltage (all digital inputs), and use 5V for the power stage (PVDD) for maximum output power.

The datasheet is not clear on what the relation should be between VDD and PVDD. In all their examples they have the same voltage on VDD=PVDD.

In our case we want VDD=3.3V and PVDD=5V.

Could you clarify these electrical characteristics ?

  • Hi Bart,

looks like Vdd and PVdd must be connected together. Using several pins for the same potenial can improve the decoupling. For the same reason the package has two GND pins, I guess.

  • Hi Bart,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our products.
Vdd is the power supply, this device doesn't have a digital IO voltage and PVdd is the speaker power supply. Both Vdd and PVdd must be connected to the same voltage.
