Hello,
The INA226 datasheet contains the following sentence :
"Full recovery from power-down mode requires 40 ms."
40 ms seems a long, long time... yet I can't see it with my logic analyser (probing ALERT/CVRF)
It seems there is a problem with the time unit : it's probably µs and not ms.
Could' you confirm this possibility?

You are correct, this should be 40uS instead of 40mS. I confirmed this with our design team, and I also did a little test with the alert pin, probably very similar to the test you performed, and found it took only about 1mS from the end of the I2C write to get the part out of shutdown until the Alert pin transitioned.
