Need suggestion on (0-5)A current measurement sensor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV425

Dear All,

One of my customer using ACS711 from Allegro for current measurement which is 12A device and in lower value current measurement they have accuracy issues. Hence they are looking for (0-5)A device for lower side current measurement which they will keep in series with ACS711 and hence mentioned suggesting device should withstand 15A current.

Kindly need your valuable suggestions on same.

Rgds,

Aravind.

  • Hi Aravind,

At low current levels, resistor based current sensors probably work the best, we do offer a wide array of such devices, most of which are extremely low offset and low drift. You have the flexibility to size the sense_R. The common mode voltage ranges from -20V to 80V. We can help further with the selection if you can provide more detailed requirements.

We do offer magnetic sensors such as DRV425 for isolated measurements; however the placement and shielding of these devices become critical, probably not well suited for this case (cost, current level etc.). You are welcome to take a look and if you are interested, one of our experts in this area can help you move forward.
