INA270A-Q1: total gain error at Vsense = 300mV

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA270

Dear all,

How should we think about total gain error over 100[mV]?

Now, we can read +/-2% at Vsense = 20~100[mV].

Concretely, how value of total gain error at Vsense = 300[mV] at Ta = -40~125C?

Best regards,

  • Dear Takao,

Gain error is an attribute that is inherent to the part, i.e., the INA270 has a typical gain error of .2%. Also, what type of shunt resistor are you using? This has the ability to greatly impact the system as well. If the +/- 2% error value you mentioned is coming from the tolerance of the resistor, this has the ability to provide significant error to the system as well, as any error provided at the input stage will be amplified through the parts gain network. I would advise you to check out videos #4 & #6 from the link below for more background on your shunt, and how to calculate gain error for your application.

  • Dear Carolus,

Thank you for your advice. And those videos is useful.

However, we would like to know gain error only under the situation of ideal resistor.

Under ideal resistor, how value will total gain error change at Vsense=300mV?

Or...could you teach the trend of change? increasing or decreasing?

    Best regards,
