Suggestion for power monitoring of wireless modules

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP92064

Hi,

I want to have a portable power monitoring module for the wireless modules I have which I need to use for the field testing were digital oscilloscopes are not an option. The range of current that I would like to measure is from 10's of microamps (during the idle state of the wireless module) to few 10's (15mA max during rf transmission). VDD is 3.3 V max (powered by Li ion battery). I was looking into LMP92064 and it seemed to be a right choice. But the evaluation module BOOST-LMP92064EVM seems to be fit only for higher range of currents and voltages.

I would like to get your valuable recommendations in choosing the right product for this application. I would prefer an evaluation module rather than a single component as much as possible to reduce the development time,

Thanks,

  • Hi Vignesh,

None of our current shunt monitors are able to monitor currents in the microamps range. The LMP92064 won't be a good fit for your application.

For small currents like this I would recommend you get in contact with the precision amplifier group. They might be able to suggest some devices from their portfolio.
