INA220: Distribution of INA220 error factor

Hi team,

My customer wants to know the distrbution of INA220's ADC shunt offset/ADC shunt gain error/ADC bus voltage offset/ADC bus gain error/INL to precisely predict the total error.

Could you help provide it?

Hello Luke,

We have a relatively new tool on the device product page (http://www.ti.com/product/INA220) for calculating/viewing total error. The tool is on the right-hand side of the page, and looks like this:

You can put in the specifics of your design and look at the error at different temperatures and across different currents.

Customer is asking for more like a distrbution data, but not just a number.

Hello Luke,

To answer your earlier question, the error number is currently being calculated using max error values for the IC, but with an ideal resistor model. If you would like to learn how to calculate a more typical/true error, please refer to our "Getting Started with Current Sense Amplifiers" video training series, which can be found at: training.ti.com/getting-started-current-sense-amplifiers.

I am still checking to see if we have any distribution data available.

Hello Luke,

After looking into it, I have found that we typically don't provide distribution data to avoid complications due to lot variations over time. Is there a specific spec that you are trying to meet?
