INA180: What conditions are necessary to not use a filter on the differential Input?

Part Number: INA180

I would like to use a filter on the Output of the INA 180 and also the INA 210. The 3db Bandwith should be real small, for example 1 kHz. Therefore Input Filtering is not possible that low while referring to the design guide in the pdf (Cf must be real big). The common mode voltage i have in the circuit is small. As you can see the input filter is not really necessary for me. Thats why i want to know, what high frequencies do have for effects on the INA 180/INA 210. Maybe then i need a minimalistic filter.

Best regards

René

  • Hello René,

You can use any combination of filtering at the input and/or output to achieve the desired filtering based on your application. Therefore, as long as your output filter is removing any unwanted noise/signals then that is all you need.
  • Hello René,

I should note that there are limits to the output capacitance drive, even with a series resistor. Also, one disadvantage to an input filter is that the resistors on the inputs can introduce errors to the circuit.
