INA233: Amplifier with better resolution

Part Number: INA233

Dear All,

One of my customer using INA233 for their battery tester, but we noticed the least count of ADC voltage measurement in INA233 is 1.5mV. Are there any other 16 bit integrated Voltage and current measurement devices which can give us much better resolution.

We can have 3V as full scale voltage measurement of SDADC, so that least count of voltage measurement can be 3/(2^16). Please advice some parts.

Rgds,

Aravind.

  • Hi Aravind,

I understand your issue there. I believe all our parts have an internal voltage divider that sets the 16bit ADC to max out at 40.96V, so they will be similar in this respect (1.25mV/bit), but I will double check with the design team, when I'm back in the office.

Depending on what functionality you have, it is possible to either use a second, or a multiple channel device, and feed the voltage to the current input with suitable voltage dividers. The native range of the ADC is 2.5 µV/bit at a 80mV nominal input.
  • Hi Aravind,

I can confirm, as per previous reply, full-scale in all our digital parts is 40.96V. Therefore the resolution will be the same.
