TINA/Spice/INA240: INA240

Part Number: INA240

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi Sir

I'am designing a power inverter to drivie motor using Foc algorithm. I do the The inline current measurement method, I implement shunt resistor directly into the power switching

Network, as shown in Figure  hereafter. Here, the current being passed across the motor is measured and used in feedback and control calculations.

The measured current shall have at least an electrical ground separation before those will be sent to the Control Board. It's a requirement. In my design the INA240 Power supply (3v3_CB and GND_CB) are referred to MCU  Board which is my Control Board. then the INA240 measure only the input difference voltage

1. Will it do the job?

Attached is a schematic for my inline current measurement

Thanks.

  • Hello,

INA240 is specially designed for applications like this and it is the best in class in terms overall performance.

In order to determine quickly if INA240 will do the job, I suggest considerations be given to the device specifications relative to your key requirements, parameters such as Max/Min voltages, accuracy, supply and power consumption and so on should be considered. Another important parameter to consider is the maximum modulation frequency of the power stage. The max frequency is closely related to settling time/accuracy requirements. If you want, we can help you make the rough assessment if you can provide your system information.
