Hi Paul,
In order to evaluate the functionality of the PGA280 using software, you would require the ADS1259EVM-PDK. The PDK version includes the MMB0 board which serves as an interface to a computer running the EVM software. The ADS1259EVM-PDK software allows you to configure the PGA280 (PGA configuration tab) and you may evaluate the functionality of the PGA280 by inputting a signal to the appropriate pins on J8 and then observing the PGA280s output at test points TP11 and TP12.
Because the MMB0 board only allows for the evaluation of one EVM at a time, it would not be possible to combine the two EVMs in order to evaluate the PGA280 with the ADS1278. What you would need to do is configure the PGA280 on the ADS1259EVM via SPI using an alternate interface, and then you could route the signals from the PGA280 to the ADS1278EVM-PDK.
Thanks so much John!
Hi Paul,
This would work just fine, the MMB0 should have no issue with you swapping in different ADS1278EVMs if you would like to test different configurations of the part.
