TL97x TL971 TL972 TL974 Saturation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL331, LM339, LM393

Hi

If I am using one of these as a comparator, how long until the output comes out of saturation? I would need it to work well up to 2kHz or so.

I will have it set up for 100mV of hysteresis.

Thanks

John

  • John,

To use a op-amp as a comparator, it should have 'VID absolute maximum' equal to supply voltage (or more) and fast slew rate.

The TL97X only allows a VID of +/-1V so that makes it a poor choice. TL331, LM393, and LM339 may be a better choice.
