DRV411

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV411

Dear All

Can one use this part somehow with Hall effect sensors similar to for example MLX91209 from Melexis. These type of sensors do not require external Hall current as provided by terminals HALL1 and HALL3 of DRV411. So can one feed a properly scaled Hall output voltage to DRV411 HALL2 and HALL4 terminals while either leaving HALL1 and HALL3 terminals floating or connecting them with an appropriate resistor?

Any insight in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi IK,

I am moving to the Amplifiers & other Linear forum for support.

  • Hi imtiaz,

What sort of application are you working on?  Unfortunately that Melexis device won't work with the DRV411.  The DRV411 works with linear hall devices that give the user access to the raw hall element, the device you are looking at has more bells and whistles (temperature compensation, gain adjustment, etc) inside the package.  You would also not be able to feed the analog voltage out of the device and into the DRV411 via one of the HALLx pins.
