TLV3502 VOH and VOL versus Iout

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV3502

The TLV3502 only specifies VOH and VOL for 1mA out. Can I get information on VOH and VOL for the rated Iout? At a minimum my customer needs data supporting Iout >10mA. A Vout vs. Iout graph woulf be appreciated.

  • Hello Donald,

We do not have a lot of information about the TLV3502 beyond what is listed in the data sheet. I did find some ealy design information that indicated the positive output swing is about 100 mV below the positive rail when sourcing 9 mA, and about 200 mV above the negative rail when sinking 9 mA. The swing will become more limited if higher output current is needed.

One of the best sources of information regarding the output levels at a high output current is the TLV3502 data sheet, page 5, the center-right O-scope plot. The TLV3502 output in this case is driving a 50 Ohm load, at 100 MHz. The supplies are +/-2.5 V and the corresponding peak output is +/-1.5 V. Peak output current in that case is approximately 30 mA. The output voltage swings to within about 1 V of each supply rail.

    Regards, Thomas
