LF398 - Power dissipation (PD)

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask LF398.

<Question1>
How do we cauculate power dissipation?
Is the following correct?
-Pd＝Maximum supply current(6.5mA on the datasheet) * supply voltage(between +Vs and -Vs)

<Question2>
Is the θjc=20℃/W on the datasheet the typical data?

Hello,

Yes, you can use the supply current times the supply voltage for a calculation of the power used. The more accurate formula is (Tj - Ta)/thetaja which is harder to do since you need the Tj of the die. The VxI calculation should be a good approximation. It needs to be less than 500mW.

Thetajc = 20C/W is a typical number.
