OPA171 / about voltage output swing from rail

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA171, OPA170

Hi,

Customer is considering OPA171. Could the device assured Vo=35V at Vin=36V and ILOAD=3.5mA ?

Regarding the datasheet description, is the electrical characteristics surrounded by red assured Vs=2.7 to 36V ? or only Vs=5V ?

Best Regards,

Kato

  • Hello Kato-san,

The comments that I made regarding the OPA170 in the previous E2E message apply to the OPA171 as well. Datasheet Figure 9 does indicate that the OPA171 should be able to provide Vo > 35 V, with Vs = 36 V, and Io = 3.5 mA. But keep in mind that the graphs indicate "Typical" performances and that are not specific assurances.

Under the "Electrical Characteristics" table heading it lists, TA = 25°C, VS = 2.7 to 36 V, VCM = VOUT = VS / 2, and RLOAD = 10 kΩ connected to VS / 2, unless otherwise noted. That would indicated that the Voltage Output Swing From The rail, over temperature, is over the wide Vs range.
